Antenatal care, also known as Prenatal care, is a type of preventive healthcare. Its goal is to provide regular check-ups that allow doctors or midwives to treat and prevent potential health problems throughout the course of the pregnancy and to promote healthy lifestyles that benefit both mother and child.
What We Do
At Magharibi Health we offer quality, affordable and safe antenatal care to expectant mothers. Our doctors are well-trained professionals whose main priority is the safety and health of both the foetus and the mother.
Important Things To Know
-
- Alcohol and nicotine can be very harmful to your baby. Give yourself enough time to quit and regain a healthy body before trying to get pregnant.
- Antenatal care varies from patient to patient depending on the dynamics of the pregnancy. For mothers with normal non-high-risk pregnancies, the 1st clinic should be before 16 weeks gestation (4 months). As for those with high-risk pregnancies, Antenatal care clinics may start earlier than this.
- A pre-pregnancy care visit can help women take steps toward a healthy pregnancy before they even get pregnant.
- Pre-Pregnancy and prenatal care can help prevent complications and inform women about important steps they can take to protect their infant and ensure a healthy pregnancy.
