An ultrasound scan uses high-frequency sound waves to make an image of a person’s internal body structures. Doctors commonly use ultrasound to study a developing fetus (unborn baby), a person’s abdominal and pelvic organs, muscles and tendons, or their heart and blood vessels.

What We Do

At Magharibi Health Specialists our patients health is our number priority and we ensure this by using state of the art equipments and well qualified professionals to take care of the patients.

Important Things To Know

  1. The ultrasound can be used during pregnancy to show images of the baby, amniotic sac, placenta, and ovaries. Major anatomical abnormalities or birth defects may be visible on an ultrasound.
  2. Ultrasound images have many uses during pregnancy. Early on, they may be used to determine due dates, reveal the presence of twins or other multiples, and rule out ectopic pregnancies.
  3. You should drink two to three eight-ounce glasses of water one hour before your scheduled ultrasound.
  4. During an ultrasound, you lie down on an examination table or bed. An ultrasound technician applies a special gel to your abdomen and pelvic area. The gel is water-based, so it shouldn’t leave marks on your clothes or skin. The gel helps the sound waves travel properly. Next, the technician places a small wand, called a transducer, onto your belly.
  5. More advanced ultrasound techniques may be used when a more detailed image is required.
